The greatest gospel gap in the world is in 50 countries—they have barely any new, thriving churches. And nearly 75% of all the world’s unreached people (3.6 billion) live in 12 of those countries. These people have the least access to the gospel in their own language.
Engage in strategic, focused prayer for the 12 countries of the world that are least reached with the gospel without ever leaving home.
Every month in 2022 we’ll feature one of these countries, familiarize you with its culture, and share prayer requests addressing the country’s specific needs. We believe the light of Jesus can shine through!
All about Egypt
This month in the land of the Great Pyramids and the Nile River, the majority of Egyptians will celebrate Ramadan—an extended time of fasting, prayer, reflection and gathering in community. Let’s pray that as they come with seeking hearts Jesus would reveal Himself!
The official language of Egypt is Arabic. English and French are also widely understood by some of the population.
In Ancient Egypt, cats were not pets but were considered sacred and thought to bring good luck.
Many say the tradition of exchanging wedding rings began in ancient Egypt, around 4000 B.C. The left ring finger was chosen because they believed there was a “vein of love” that ran from there directly to the heart.
Egypt spans two continents through the Sinai Peninsula, which forms a land bridge between Africa and Asia.
Egypt is the only Arab country that has a movie industry.

Pray for Christians to be consistent in Bible reading and in prayer so they will grow closer to God. May mature believers help new Christians in learning more about the Lord.
Pray for the younger generations of Egypt who seek to numb their troubles with drugs and alcohol and fall prey to addiction. Pray that they seek the Lord, and that Christ would free them from their chains of addiction and find His love to be satisfying.
